iOS and Android mobile application for the amazing partners from a global fashion resale marketplace.
Clothes Garage came to I&M Trading with a need of a bespoke website to engage their target audiance to participate in their resale concept. We knew that more than 90% of visitors to the site would be on a mobile device, so we had to ensure the site was fully designed and developed with a mobile-first approach. So we got an idea to develop iOS and Android mobile application instead of an initial idea.
We met regularly with the creative team at Clothes Garage to ensure we kept the visual language on point and on brand.
We worked to a tight deadline to design and build the mobile application, embracing rapid iteration on both the creative and technology side of the project. This allowed us to try many things until we honed in on something that worked incredibly well and looked fantastic, all within confines of the Clothes Garage brand. The project consisted of three key phases: find/post, buy/sell and payment. Each stage was carefully timed for launch to ensure it hit the various time zones at optimum points. Each stage also presented different technical challenges we needed to deal with in real time, including traffic management.
The Clothes Garage app needed to feel and look revolutionary.
We eschewed the creative planning phase of a standard project and jumped straight into rapid prototyping. This helped us not only to meet a very tight deadline, but also to try new technologies and to expreriment with the creative process, all the while with the Clothes Garage brand and app in mind. We iterated towards the final product always with a view to achieving high engagement with Clothes Garage’s audience. On the morning of the global launch, the app racked up a huge number of unique downloads. The app, and the project as a whole, turned into a mega success for Clothes Garage and for us, with positive feedback from many Clothes Garage community members.
